Think Beyond Numbers was born from hundreds of conversations with founders, investors, and business leaders. Our journey began as Investor India Alliance, where we worked with early-stage startups to refine business strategies, prepare for fundraising, and navigate the challenges of building a company. Over the years, we have interacted with 650+ startups and worked closely with 75+ founders, investors, and leadership teams.

As we immersed ourselves in the ecosystem, one reality became impossible to ignore.

India doesn't have a shortage of ambitious founders or investment capital. What it lacks is sustained strategic support after the investment is made. Too often, businesses fail not because they lack funding, but because they struggle with leadership, execution, governance, market access, or the difficult strategic decisions that arise as they scale.

Our background has always been rooted in business strategy, growth, and execution - not traditional finance. We believe financial metrics tell you what has happened; understanding the business tells you why it happened and what to do next.

That belief became our purpose.

Over the last twenty-five years, I've had the privilege of working with organizations at very different stages of their journey—from writing software in Silicon Valley, to shaping business strategy for one of the world's largest technology companies, to working alongside founders, investors, family businesses, and growth-stage startups across India.

If there's one thing these experiences have taught me, it's this:

Good business is remarkably simple.

Understanding the customer & meeting their unmet needs, building & managing a self-driven team, being frugal with money, never losing sight of the market transitions and striking a balance between data-based decisions & your gut-feel are some of the fundamental principles that should apply equally to a startup & a “traditional business”

Startups bring energy, innovation, speed, and the courage to challenge convention. Traditional businesses bring discipline, resilience, operational excellence, customer relationships, and decades of practical business wisdom.

Imagine what happens when these strengths come together.

That belief became the foundation of Think Beyond Numbers.

I've always believed that business should never become more complicated than it needs to be. Behind every spreadsheet, valuation model, or growth chart are people making decisions. Better decisions create better businesses, and better businesses create lasting impact—for founders, employees, customers, investors, and society.
